Move tempdb from one drive to another

Here is the script to change the tempdb location.

SELECT name, physical_name AS CurrentLocation, state_desc FROM sys.master_files WHERE database_id = DB_ID('tempdb');

tempdb1

USE master;
GO
ALTER DATABASE tempdb
MODIFY FILE (NAME = tempdev, FILENAME = 'T:\Data\tempdb.mdf');
GO
ALTER DATABASE tempdb
MODIFY FILE (NAME = templog, FILENAME = 'T:\Log\templog.ldf');

The change requires the SQL Server instance service restart.

SELECT name, physical_name AS CurrentLocation, state_desc FROM sys.master_files WHERE database_id = DB_ID('tempdb');

tempdb2
